Burgh Babies

We spent our last day of Thanksgiving break in the Burgh, enjoying all of the holiday cheer it has to offer. We didn't tell Ethan (mainly because he would have been up at 5:00 and wouldn't have shut up about it until we got there), so it was a great surprise when we pulled into the Science Center's parking lot right as it opened. It was a FANTASTIC day to visit. We were there for about three hours, and it was just starting to get crowded when we were leaving. Perfect. Even more perfect? AJ's students got him a gift card for the Science Center at last year's concert, so the entire day was FREE!

We spent the first 20 minutes or so looking at the trains. This is always a hit with the boys, especially because not only is Thomas on the track, so is the Polar Express. And they get to see Kennywood. And make the trains whistle. What little boy wouldn't love this?

Ethan loves to RUSH through everything.
We are working on slowing down and enjoying!

We then explored the other floors, namely, the water room. Bad idea. The boys LOVE this room. Ethan is old enough now to not get soaked, but Jack...not so much. He was SO wet, we had to take off his shirt at lunch and run it under the dryer in the bathroom. Classy.
We rolled up the sleeves, to no avail.
 Playing nicely. And loudly.
This water was freezing. Notice how Jack cares.
This room also had these cool blocks.
The boys built a house.
We also checked out some of the robot stuff there. Jack was a little scared of a few of the robots, but Ethan was in his glory. AND, they had Star Wars! Pretty cool.
Jack could have done this all day.

It did not go well for Ethan.
 C3PO!
 R2D2!
Shooting 'rockets' - right up everyone's alley.
Pretending they are on the Space Station
Then we headed to PPG to see EVERYTHING - it is truly like the holidays threw up. We stopped at the big tree and skating rink. We might have to take Ethan down over Christmas break to try to skate (and leave Jack at home!). Today would have been perfect - not crowded and awesome weather. We also checked out the Santa's and ginger bread houses inside. It was pretty crowded in there, and Jack was not a big fan of the Santa's. A mall photo should go well this year...
This was such a tease for them.
 My cutie pies.
I love looking at all of the houses!

This is as close as Jack would get to the Santa...
