We signed Ethan up for a sports class at our YMCA - it's a 6 week class, and they cover a different sport each week. This week was soccer, which I figured he would love. He was so excited to go, and did great during the warm ups. He was really following directions, working well with the teachers (who are AWESOME) and other kids, and really trying to do everything they were showing him. They gave them 3 minutes to just run around with their own ball; he loved that. Then they did stretching, and he tried his best. Then they lined them up to work on some skills. He was doing everything, and then GRANDMA came. It was all over then. He just wanted to see her, so we had some tears and crying. I didn't feel too badly because there were a few 5-year-old boys also throwing fits. He fit right in. We just took turns going out there with him and guiding him a bit, and he hung in there the whole time. At the end, they had the kids play a 'game.' They had two teams - Ethan was on "Team Awesome." The game consisted of all of the kids running the full length of the gym, chasing the ball but never quite reaching it. It was insanity, but hilarious.
Next week is hockey. Toddlers with sticks. Good idea...

Enjoy the pictures. My camera was not cooperating with the lighting and motion that was happening in there, but I tried. Hopefully we'll get better pics next week. When Grandma stays home ;-)
Getting their instructions
Warming up by chasing the teacher = fun!
Stretching
Touching those toes
Waiting to kick!

He was pretty patient.
And, they're off :-)
They got to yell "Score" when they made it in!
