What a Difference a Day Makes...

And not in a good way.

Yesterday, we had a terrible day and I wanted to give my mom a medal for sticking with me through the chaos. We had an even worse night last night; Ethan woke up a few times, not really sick, but just sad and/or pooping. Jack woke up about 4 times, just miserable and only wanting his mama (understandable, right?). By 4:30 a.m., he was burning up, exhausted, and had no little voice. Great. We were all exhausted this morning, Ethan so much that he wet his bed. Great.

The morning was a little groggy for us, and Ethan decided to call my mom and say how it had been so long since he'd seen her, and he wondered if she was crying from missing him. Sweet, but he says something along those lines every day about one of his grandparents so it didn't have much sentimentality to me. It was just funny considering she spent all day here yesterday, and after E & J's performances, I know she most certainly did NOT miss it over at our house :-)

But, Ethan was feeling great - he was loud and active as ever, so I took him for a hair cut. He was the perfect child, so we shopped at Target. Again, all was going well.

Then, we pulled into the driveway and saw a white car - Grandma's car. Apparently, Ethan's little guilt-trip, and the knowledge that Jackson was full-blown sick, made her want to stop by and visit for a bit. A bit, however, wasn't enough for Ethan. After all, Grandma had stayed here for a harsh 8-hour stint yesterday. So, basically, she was here to check on us for 15 minutes, which ended up getting both boys all ticked off when she left. Thanks for that, Mother. Consider yesterday's medal revoked ;-)

Miraculously, I got both boys to sleep at the same time. It only lasted an hour, but it was blissful. Cranky Jack woke first, covered in snot, but he was fine out playing with me. The real change was Ethan - he woke up from his nap coughing and crying hysterically. He told me he had a bad dream about a monster taking a little boy, but it could have been because he wanted to watch Beauty & the Beast before his nap. He's still coughing quite a bit, which we really haven't seen any of since Thursday. He says he feels fine, and he's not warm, and he snapped out of the coughing/crying funk pretty quickly, but he really doesn't seem to want to eat. Who knows.

AJ is on his way home from his first rehearsal with the orchestra. It's sure to be a long week for us, especially if the boys continue down the sickly path we are currently on. Going to work tomorrow is going to feel like a vacation!
