Eight months old! Jackson is about 18.5 lbs and just feels HUGE! He is tall and eats like a champ. He will be the child that eats us into poverty. He has munched on endamame this week and really liked it. I think he will like anything he can get his hands on. He tried mashed potatoes; the first bites were good. Then, he got a look at what he was eating and became more interested in trying to hold the mashed potatoes than eating any more.
Look at those teeth!
Snazzy in his outfit from Aunt Jenny

Our 'baby' is too big for his baby car seat. True, he has until 22 lbs before he's technically too big, but I honestly can hardly carry the little porker while he's in there! Jack's long legs hang over the bottom, too, so we think it is time. I ordered Ethan's big boy booster seat so that our 'littlest' can use the seats Ethan has been using.
My Happy Boy!

He continues to be extremely pleasant, and he has discovered his voice. He is LOUD - screeching squeals, crazy giggles, high-pitched coos - he does it all! Our baby also got his second tooth this past weekend. We will miss seeing his one-tooth grin. It's pretty hilarious. I don't like thinking of him with a mouthful of teeth. There is nothing cuter than a big, gummy grin. Sigh. No more Kovall gummy babies. But, my body, my husband, and my bank account thank me for that decision.
How cute is he??
He is a little army crawler. He seems to want to do the traditional crawl, but he can't quite figure it out. He is always on all fours, rocking away, then scoots to wherever he needs to be. It's become a little game of who can get there first - Ethan or Jackson. My house is a zoo. We have a new rule - anything Ethan leaves on the floor is fair game. If he doesn't want Jack to have something, he has to clean up. Needless to say, Ethan is much neater these days.

Jackson is a mini-AJ. It's ridiculous how much he looks like him - big head, big eyes, fat cheeks - and nothing like Ethan! To the common bystander, they look alike. To those of us close to them, it's really remarkable how different they look. I can't wait to see him grow (well, sort of) to see how he turns out. At least we know he won't inherit AJ's hairline :-)
He hates the flash...get over it, kid :-)
In one month, we will be taking his 9 month pictures. Shortly after that, we will be planning his first birthday party. He'll be walking. And talking. And hopefully, he will stop waking up at 2 a.m. like he has every night for the past week...
