Ethan has gotten to hang out with two buddies in the past two days - Alaina and George. Alaina is the daughter of my college roommate and maid of honor, Jen. They are only two weeks apart!
We met them for lunch at Eat N Park. We haven't seen Alaina since she turned two, so we had to deliver her gifts (which Ethan wanted for himself...).

Ethan even said "Happy Birthday, Alaina" - very cute! We always try to get the two of them to sit together nicely for a picture, but they never cooperate. This is the best we could do:

Today, we got up and headed to the Children's Museum to see the new Curious George exhibit. Plus, the 'real' George was scheduled to be there, too. Ethan had a blast (he always does when he is there!). We really took our time, went at E's pace, and just let him do his thing.

We started in the George room. It is adorable - the apartment is there, there's a slide, and all sorts of sets for the kids to construct and move around. Ethan had a great time with a set that let him move blocks around on conveyer belts - it was pretty cool.
There was another one where the kids could point big fans and to make windmills move. Our boy is a huge fan of fans, so this was a hit!
We spent a long time in the gravity room with the fast slide. I think we went on it about 6 times before we got Ethan out of there.
We had a quick lunch and got a sneak peek at the real George. There was a huge line, so I took E just to get a better look. He wasn't too impressed, so we skipped the line and went on to playing! There was a little George statue. This is the best pic we could get. Someone was very busy playing!

Tonight is a very big night for Ethan - we converted his crib to a toddler bed (we just took off the front part).
We will put a bunch of pillows under him and see how it goes. It's really low to the ground, so even if he falls out, he won't get hurt. We are locking his door (cruel, I know, but at least we know he'll be safe in there all night) and giving it a go. I fully expect to go in his room in the morning and find his toys and books everywhere.

He may even stay on the floor to sleep. Who knows. But, regardless, our little baby is becoming more of a big boy tonight and we are proud!

Aww, he is getting so big! I'm sure he will have a blast being able to roam freely. Hope the night goes well!
Love,
Grandma
