We're All Animals...

Vacation Catch Up:

We spent Sunday at Animal Kingdom; AJ and I went there while on our honeymoon and were not impressed. That was about nine years ago, and things have changed! There were lots of things for the boys to see, and they had a great time. My only complaint is that, truly, it's a 1/2 day park. It closes pretty early anyway. Since these facts are true, why not charge less than the standard, rape-your-bank-account rate? It seems only fair that you'd pay less for less magical fun, right? Disney doesn't agree. We had fun regardless.

They had a nice dinosaur-themed area with rides and activities for Ethan.
Everyone thought the safari ride was pretty awesome - we rode that early, and all of the animals were out and about. They came right up to us - Ethan was so excited. Jack ended up falling asleep, but whatever.

The Lion King show is really fun - tons of colors and singing. Ethan's never watched the movie - he gets scared easily - but he enjoyed the effects. Jack clapped the entire time.
We also saw a Finding Nemo live show - this one was new from the last time we were there, and it was really well done. We sat in the front section, aka, The Bubble Zone, which was great. At the end of the show, TONS of bubbles came down from the ceiling - the boys would have spent all day trying to catch them!

We got to meet more characters that day; Ethan was all set with an autograph book, but his slacker mother left it at the townhouse. He didn't care. Jack was stoked to meet his favorite duck, and tried to grab the nose of some very important mice. Ethan wanted to meet Goofy desperately, but wasn't happy Pluto was there. He told us he would 'high five' Goofy, but NOT Pluto. Who knew he had such strong opinions about cartoon dogs?

We got to go back to the townhouse and relax a bit that evening, which was nice. The downtime helped everyone recharge for the last two days of longer park times.
