Vacation 2012

We just got back from a short trip to Port Clinton/Put-in-Bay, Ohio. This is our second summer making the trip, and for a young family, it is great - only a three-hour drive, great pool, private and calm beach, yummy places to eat, etc. We took my mom this year, and we were all glad to have her help with the demons children. We didn't get to go to Cedar Point this year, though. We had BEAUTIFUL weather every day, up until today when we planned to go to CP. Ethan was bummed, but we promised to take him before school starts. It's probably a good thing we didn't go- Jack was uncharacteristically cranky on vacation - whining, clinging, not resting. Not sure what's up with him, but he wouldn't have been much fun at an amusement park.

This was as trying trip; close confines with a cranky baby made it tough at times. I'm going to choose to focus on the giggles and smiles we got as the boys played and tried new things. Ethan did great swimming - he floated all around and practiced strokes and kicks. Jack ate some sand. Ethan tried eggs and bacon for the first time! Jack ate a sea shell. Ethan became obsessed with seashells and seagulls. Jackson ate everything he could. Do you see a theme here?
