Happy Halloween!

Our Halloween Extravaganza began on Thursday night with trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. It was pretty cold, so we didn't take Ethan out. We did get about 7 kids for candy - with the location of our house, that is about what we expected. Ethan got very excited to see everyone's costumes. While we were waiting for the kids, our doorbell rang on two different occasions; our neighbors greeted us with goodie bags for Ethan. It was really sweet - he got all kinds of treats: coloring books, a glow-stick bracelet that he LOVES, and his two favorites - candy corn and lollipops. Good night.
Things got even better on Friday when we opened the mail. He got a ton of Halloween cards and raked in some cash for his Disney fund. The best contribution, though, came from my Aunt Carol. She sent him a bunch of lottery tickets, which I promptly rubbed off with a quarter. Much to my surprise, E won $45 on one ticket - the very last ticket! How awesome is that!!!
Saturday was the official Halloween celebration for us. We headed to Potter Twp, which is a neighboring community in our school district. I met up with my co-teacher and her family. Her adorable nieces were fairies and Ethan was excited to run in their neighborhood.
It was such a neat, small-town experience - every neighbor had treats, as well as food and drinks going for adults. There were a ton of tractors pulling a ton of kids. I think we will be hitting that neighborhood every year!
We stayed for about an hour. We asked Ethan if he wanted more candy; he said "No candy. I'm cold." We were glad - it was seriously freezing, and lord knows my child does not need any sugar enhancement.
